As per the report of the California Telehealth resource center “The national average for readmission to hospital within 30 days following a heart failure episode is 20%.Telehealth monitoring programs have reduced those levels to less than 4%.

In one study participants in behavioral health intervention telehealth program had 31% less hospital admissions and 48% fewer hospital days than patients who did not participate

Result(s):

As per WHO “The role of Telehealth in expanding access to health care during COVID-19 pandemic” concludes that more than three fourth of the population are interested to use Telehealth for consultation in the year 2020 (76%) with double the insurance claims compared to 2019. Health care also upgrades digital care with more upgrades in more centralized virtual hospitals. The success of Telehealth direct linked to the acceptance of the patients, and also flexibility and communication is the key.

Conclusion(s):

Telehealth can overcome physical barriers to reach patients and also optimize the patient experience by delivering quality care. It also saves time, convenient, easy to follow up, and reduces the spread of illness. However Telehealth relies on the internet and smart devices, user should have basic knowledge in technology to use the service and also the possibility of security breaches of electronic health data. Some of the health conditions require a thorough physical examination and also diagnostic tests. Health care laws, reimbursement policy, and privacy protection struggle to keep up with this fast-growing digital health care.
